Fine Art doesn’t always have to play by the rules. As photographer’s, we are often categorised by a distinct style.
Documentary, modern, fine art… if you’re planning your wedding then you’ve probably come across all of these terms!
For me, photography is about expressing the moment (and perhaps adding a little spice for good measure).
In the daytime, few styles can beat beautiful pastel colours, inspired by Fuji 400. Nothing says dreamy wedding more than cream highlights, stunning skin tones and soft edges.
On a side note, it’s also a colour palette that will never age. Even when you’re looking back on your wedding photos in years to come, you’ll never grow tired of swooning over film photography. Put simply, it’s classic to the core and the epitome of elegance.
However, once the formalities are taken care of and you transport into the evening (cue…party) part of your special day, it seems wrong not to push the boundaries.
This is where you’ll find yourself sharing an intimate moment with your new partner in crime, dancing on the bar with your bridesmaids or making a suitable sparkler entrance.
I therefore love to change the tone of my photography accordingly…a touch of extra contrast, the clever use of lighting and slightly muted colours.
Enjoy!
